Post Feel Well And Truely Ripped Off !!!
Ok so where to begin,

Hardware: Q9550 @ 2.83 ghz , 4 Gb Ram, ATI Radeon HD4850 x2 2gb, 6.3TB Combined HDD Space
OS: Primary Drive, Vista Ultimate 32bit. Dual Booting with Windows 7 Ultimate on Secondary Drive rest Of Info Is In DXDIAG.ZIP

I Downloaded and installed the Metaboli Player, Downloaded Various Games from the site upon clicking the Play button on all games wham Blue screen of death PC dumps memory and reboots, This has happened on all but one game. So I visited the forums and help section and went through about 200 Posts of varying Problems and implemented the more relevant ones for vista i.e. getting DX9 Redist, Cleaning Registry, defragging, Opening Ports, Disabling the firewall, disabling any spyware and virus software all with completely no results what so ever. Then to top it all off, I’m paying subscription to a company that doesn’t even offer its customers any telephone support how ridicules is that. Then all the Shortcuts that are created on my desktop all open up a French website not the actual game now that was a minor issue granted but combined it’s frankly an appalling service. Quite honestly because I have been unable to play any game what so ever I am going to be asking for a full refund and cancel my account, I have also contacted Virgin Media directly at a reasonably high level to ascertain if this service will be carrying on through them as this can directly affect Virgins Image.

Ok well your feelings are just, but think your pointing agression at the wrong target, Blue screens are extemely rare in my experince and only see them few and far between.

Now heres the first thing Id do, update vista.. your still running service pack 1.

I have a hunch as to the cause of the problem but lets actually investigate it, Dxdiags dont do much, an error log will help much more as this will actually tell us whats going on. A guide to getting these reports is here

If you tell us what that has in it it will go much further in identifying the problem for you.

Hi there PappaSmurfTM,

I'm very sorry to hear about your problems.

Blue screens of death are very very rare. I don't think I've actually heard a client mention one caused by a game here, for as long as I've been working here, a little over two years now.

Actually, you yourself say that all but one game caused the BSOD to happen, so I'm going to assume that it must be something with the computer rather than the games. That, combined to the fact that virtually no one has reported a BSOD of late points to something that could be going wrong with your comp.

Don't worry though, we will help you, and the users in this forum are particularly adept and skilled in problem solving. If you wish to discuss things further as to getting reimbursed please contact the support department, which will be the only ones able to help you in that regard.

Well quoting from wildride *you are still running Service Pack 1* so am i and have no problems with the games i have downloaded.
I trust you wasn't suggesting to PappaSmurfTM that he updates to Service Pack 2 because that will cause even more problems. as users have found out.
I suggest checking Directx is all up to date and check the various games to see if they need anything else to run them correctly.
Example: The Witcher wouldn't run for me until i updated Directx.
PS: As an after thought, could it be Windows 7 as i have heard it's not supported by Metaboli as yet.

Actually yes I was as a first step, theres a bunch of security updates, SP2 is fine, I run it in fact Im fully up-to-date on windows updates, Ive had zero problems except when I do testing and disable/enable certain things to replicate other users problems.

As for Win7 he said he has Vista32 as a dual boot and Im assuming his tried it on both and had the same result.

DirectX shouldnt be giving a BSOD, Im waiting to see the error report before I jump to conclusions, but it sounds very similar to a problem I had a few years back.

Thank you for not resurrecting an old post like that. I'll let it go this time, but please don't do it again.
Create a new thread and post a link to the older thread if you really have to.

Thanks!

Now, concerning your blue screen problem, I would recommend to contact support.

blue screens could be caused by many factors.. I had a slew of them a couple of years back and swore black and blue that it was Metaboli's fault as I always noticed them occuring when using metaboli.

Metaboli in fact had nothing to do with it, my motherboard just didnt go well with the ram I had. I had to underclock the ram to stabalise the system, though it took me 6 months to find the solution only after I contacted the MB manufacturer. After awhile I got new ram made sure I bought from a good manufacturer that had tested the ram with the model of motherboard I had. Needless to say no problems after that.

The point Im trying to make is while you may be running Metaboi when you see this blue screen, the chances its actually metaboli causing it are not 100%. What message do you get with the bluescreen? If its metaboli it will say specifically that certain files caused it.

well i am mcse mcp and cisco quallified and i havent heard so much dribble in all my life
i have tried this service on 4 different machines
all with different specs
ranging from nvidia to ati graphics duo or quad cores xp vista or win 7 even in 64 bit
512-mb - 2-0 gig
2-8 gig ddr
cpu 1.6 -3.0 +
all software lastest versions and installed correctly
even without antivirus installed or firewall ...
the crux of the matter is the service doesnt work for all people with all specs its time you
admit this and start refunding people accordingly
you dont turn your firewall off or shouldnt have to delete cookies like in other topics on this forum
firewalls are there for ppls protection start by telling people which ports they should open in port forwarding etc
also batman etc has problems with ati cards a warning notice should be in place to read before you download these issues are know in the industry instead ppl rather cash in
give ppl proper techincal help and advice not excuses
the other point is i have owned the discs to the games i have tryed to install via this service and they worked perfectly ... unfortunately the discs where stolen so i came here to be able to continue gaming
i personally will be contacting trading standards to settle my issue

Really?'The service works very well for myself with very few issues and does for a lot of other people too.so this is quite simply untrue

This may very well be true but does that mean the community here knows less than you or is unable to give you and advise or help to get the sevice working. This is your first post on the forums here and im a little surprised you have not posted asking for a little advice before flaming the service.

I do cencede your point about batman.there could be a warning on the games page to save people's bandwidth. But at the end of the day it is not metaoli's fault that batman has issues with ati cards.also when using etc after batman almost implies that this is the case for most of the games which again is simply untrue.Im sure some ati users would still try and dl it to see if they can get it working and what do you loose by trying other than a little bandwidth

Proper tech support is available officially via e-mail and unofficially via the forums.personally ive never had to contact official support as any issues ive had i have found a resolution to them from the forums.

that info is avalible in the help section of the site here http://eptica.metaboli.com/couk/templat ... 5F?id=3472 did you even try looking to see if the info was available

Having dealt with trading standards myself twice before although those were nothing to do with this service i can tell you they will want you to have tried to give the service a little time to resolve your issue first.

if were and are having issues with the service did you even try looking at the help section.Im also guessing as you only joined the service a day before this post you have not asked for official support either and this is your first post on the forums so you have not asked here either which from my point of view does not really give you statements any credibility.

I dont mean to rubbish your opinion by what i have pointed out here but when i see people making accusations that are quite simply not true it annoys me.I've been a member of the service for a few years now and have had very few issues and not 1 issue that i have not managed to resolve in a timely fashion with either a quick search on google for individual issues with games or from the community here on the forums.

I am somewhat amazed you decided to flame the service before even asking the community here for a little help and advice espically as you only joined the service yesterday.Surley it would have been a far more sensible approach.Who knows it might have even turned into a positive result for you.Guess we will never know now.

finally if you felt that dissattisfiied with the service you had to post your thoughts why did you post it in a thread that was dead a few months ago and not start a thread of your own with some constructivity to it to give your opinion a little more wieght
