Post What is happening with Kings Bounty
It was working fine for ages and then it had that mad weekend a fortnight or so ago, since then it just hasn't worked for me. I have been able to get it working going via one of the other portals but from the main site it just does not work.

I get a huge variety of different symptoms, including:

- Two copies of it showing up from time to time in the list of Strategy games.
- - one of those pages tells me I need to download it
- - the other gives "There has been an error launching the game."

- It appears in "My Games" as part downloaded.
- It is in "Remote Programs" and in the Player Settings as fully downloaded and ready to go.

- I removed it from the Player Settings, leaving my personal settings, but it stayed as part downloaded My Games.
- I removed it completely from the Player Settings and it still appeared in My Games.

- I have now removed it from both places and am attempting to download it again.
- - it is downloading, apparently, according to the My Games page but is nowhere to be seen in the Player Settings list.

And now the really weird thing: I have all my Metaboli games set to download to one particular drive partition - all others set to zero. But it is now part way downloaded and is not in any of the "Remote Programs" folders on any of my partitions.

So, I hunted around and have found that it is being downloaded to the following location: "C:\Metaboli\games" - I don't want that - I like my C: drive tidy thank you very much.

So, what is going on and how do I tell it to go to the partition I have set aside for my games?

Aaaarrrggghhh!

The download speed dropped to effectively zero, it would not let me "Stop" the download from either the Player Settings (cos' it isn't listed) or from "My Games". So I reset my machine and came back to try again:

"There has been an error launching the game."

Tried again from the games own page and it started downloading again at zero byte per second.

Forget it with this game and some of the others they dont work and the devs can't be arsed to fix them. I was told by metashane ages ago that they were fixing this and so far dont seem to have done naff all.

Its been over a month since there was problems with this game and so far nothing has been done. they even wait till you waste 5 or so gigs downloading a game then play it for a while then wait for the company to remove the rights just wasting your time.

Its nice to know when you pay money out to a company that what they advertise is what you dont actually get. its like when you go to these back street auctions like blackpool and they are selling ps3's and xbox 360's for £20 when in actual fact once handed the money in the end it could be something like £70 you end up with a cheap import Mp4 player from Hongkong that probably wont work.

Then they employ someone to do the talking to sell this stuff e.g MetaShane that is there to feed out crap to get the poeple in and then when the stuff doesn't work give out more crap to try and throw you off e.g its in for being fixed or its a priority fix they are working on it etc.

There is no feed back on this forum 90% of the posts go unresponded to you cannot contact the company as all there emails come back post master return. I'm giving it another 4 weeks and if nothing is done then I will close my account as there are a few other companies out there that are offering a service similar to this one.

Try reinstalling the player, the games working fine, but a fortnight or so ago when the problems arose (not a month) They had to get a different version of the game, a week ago I reinstalled the player and got the game fine.

Its using the new Yummy conduit player as opposed to the exent, hence why the old wont work.

Pretty much, what happened is they rolled out the new player ahwile back and announced it. Player had all sorts of issues Kings Bounty had problems etc etc, I couldnt get it at that time, then a few days ago I reinstalled the player and it started working. Perhaps there was a minor update, before the yummy broker wasnt asking for rights, now it does everytime I launch KB. Only thing Ive noticed though is KB takes a minute to load after its downloaded, looks like nothing is happening for a minute then it kicks in.

Havent tried it in XP only Vista64, so that delay may not even be present in 32bit environments.

Works a treat after re-installing the player - thanks.
There is a slight pause before the games starts on XP 32bit - maybe 30 seconds.

I spoke too soon. Worked first time but now I am back at "There was an error launching the game."

I thought I would try yet another fresh download - but I get that error now even when I try downloading. Sigh.

yep same thing here it does work but sometimes takes anywhere from 1-15 tries and sometimes you have to restart the pc and then try again and it does sometimes work right away.

Most of the other times I get a runtime code and it says it wont play.
