Post Free Trial
Well this free trial is quite a good thing. I never knew games could be rented this way. Only thing is though none of the games work. Ive downloaded a few and nothing seems to work, they just crash after a couple of seconds.
I use IE 9
Windows 7
Gforce 9800 M
My laptop is 3 years old.
Any ideas on how to make it work? or is it another gimmick that doesnt actually play?

if you can give a list of what games you have tried then we will be able to help better.

many of the games need additional software required for them to run such as a game for windows live account or a ubisoft account, or codecs for video / audio, DX9, etc etc links for the software required are on the page for each game.

Hi

Nope this is not a gimmick.I have been a member here for a few years adn run most games without any issues at all.

To start with make sure you install any extra software a game needs.Links to any supplemental software needed will be linked to from the games own page.

Even though you are using win 7 you will need to install direct x9 as lots of games here will need it in order to function correctly. It wont replace or delete dx 10,11 it will just simplly work along side them.

Make sure you are using up to date drivers for your system. This can include gfx, sound and mobo drivers.

Check that your security software is not blocking the player or game from running

Make sure your system is clean of malware.Along side my security software i use advanced system which is free and available from http://www.iobit.com It scans spyware, invalid reg entries etc and removes them.I alos use malwarebytes anti malware.

Another utility you may find usefull from iobit.com is game booster. This utility closes down background applictions and frees up resources so that the games can make use of them.

If after tying the above you still have issues running any games then reply here letting us know what games you have issues with and as much info about the issue as possible and im sure either myself or another one of the regular posters here will be able to offer you some constructive advice.

In addition, use Internet Explorer or Firefox (not sure if FF5 works with it though) other browsers like Chrome do not work with the service at the present time.

You will also need to get .NET Framework 4 from http://www.microsoft.com/net/download.aspx this isnt mentioned on every page.

Hello guys,

I can confirm (as I did elsewhere on the forum) that we are indeed FF5 compatible :)

I will update everything and double check forums for anything else. Seems like a great way to play games. Thanks.

Hey there!

It IS a great way to play games. I mean, where could you legally play the Witcher 2 for only £12.95?

I have updated everything and I have played a couple of games. I will be a paid subscriber when my trial runs out.
It could've been the directx update or even my graphics card both were in need of an update.
Many thanks.

Just keep getting prompted by FF each time I go to upgrade that the Yummy plugin will not work with FF5 if I upgrade so just cancel.

Ill upgrade anyway and go from there.

You just need to redownload and reinstall the plugin after you have upgraded to Ff5. I had the same issue as before (not automatically installing the .xpi, but manually installing it worked fine) when I upgraded to Ff4, but everything is working fine now.
