Re: About Patching
The read this first thread is pretty outdated as far as I know. You can use downloaded versions of the patches as the Yummy platform (the thing that runs the games essentially) thankfully allows for it and in most cases it will work without a hitch. Alternatively you can naturally inform Metaboli's support that a game has a patch readily available to be applied.

About Patching
Hey all,

Just curious to know how patching works on Metaboli.

From the "read this first" post in this category (FAQ) it says:

"Patches to games are a similar story. If you have to manually download and install a patch then it wont work. If the game has a built in patching system then it usually works as normally. Most patches must therefore be applied by Metaboli once the publishers supply them with the necessary files. The bad news is that some publishers are slow at providing the files."

From this I read that I have to wait for Metaboli to patch a game?

But then from another topic, a post by MetaShane:

"patching requires you to either use the download version of the patch, that can sometimes be found on the publisher's site, or wait for us to patch it ourselves, (which we do, but only when the publisher has provided us with the necessary patch, and that can take some time). At which point you'll just have to redownload a *small* portion of the game, depending on what the patch did to the game"

So I can apply patches from publishers website (manually) afterall?

I'm a bit confused!

Also, how long in does it take for games to be patched on Metabolis side? My reason for asking is I love the game Patrician IV, but there is a patch 1.3 that have been out since late 2010 so its been 6months so far.

If manual patching is possible, will it cause any problems if I do so and then later on metaboli patches the game?

If metaboli patch a game, will the download of this patch start automatically, or do I have to start a game or click a download button to activate it?

Thank you for a good service, I hope you got many good multiplayer games on the horizon as thats the reason me and the gf signed up. She easily tire of games (especially if she lose haha) so we go through multiplayer games like there's no tomorrow.. :)
