Re: UT3 crash at Run, VC++ runtime error (but have both 2005/8)
ooooo thx wild never thought to ask that.Assumed if it was needed it would be part of the games files as it was not mentioned on the games own page
Have you got OpenAL installed? from memory at least one of the Unreal games here requires it (though dont see it on the game pages)
Get it from http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/default.aspx
Let us know if that solves the problem
Re: UT3 crash at Run, VC++ runtime error (but have both 2005/8)
From what i found on other forums it does appear to be a sound issue but it might not be. This game does not require the physx drivers.Well it does not state on the games own page they are needed anyway This thread i found when googling MSVCR80.dll ut3 http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=183845It does suggest placing the msvcr80.dll file in the ut3 binaries folder but that did not resolve the issue for the person who was having this issue. try the tips section here to see if anything helps(section9) read-this-first-t58690.htmlIm at a bit of a loss for anything to suggest now maybe 1 of the more advanced users here can take a look and offer you a little advice.

Re: UT3 crash at Run, VC++ runtime error (but have both 2005/8)
Thank you for your effort but no. 1. Got newest GPU, Motherboard, soundcard drivers. 2. Both vc++ 2005 + sp1, 2008 3. tryed soundcard tricks Same old error. It quits(show error) as fast as i choose game language. this is error (vista 32bit): 15.8.2010 10:25 Application Error Faulting application UT3.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x49cb0f31, faulting module MSVCR80.dll, version 8.0.50727.4016, time stamp 0x49cc5361, exception code 0x40000015, fault offset 0x000046b4, process id 0xbd4, application start time 0x01cb3c643afd39bf.The thing that nervs me the most is that could be something really simple, and i have spent hours and hours trying to get it work, my friends also dont know the reason becouse everything looks fine, all other games works fine, but somehow im desperate to get this one working since UT is my old favourite. Here are my installed apps, i even installed physix dont know should i, but tryed with or without it same thing. I will keep looking

Re: UT3 crash at Run, VC++ runtime error (but have both 2005/8)
when you say you get the same error are you sure it is.Did you check the windows logs to see if it is the exact same error as you posted here last time. Did you make sure to just install the correct version of vc for your operating system and not both 32 and 64 bit versions. Have you made sure that you are using up to date sound card drivers and also motherboard drivers too? Did you also install dx9 that the game needs as this does not ship with vista? After a little searching on the net i came across this http://forums.epicgames.com/archive/ind ... 85893.html From this thread it would appear to be an issue with the game and harware openal sound enabled.Try turning it off like the thread suggests and see if it helps. The other link i provided in one of my earlier posts also suggested lowering the soundbit rate did you try it? 1) Right click your audio icon in the system tray (The speaker-looking thing) and select 'Playback Devices'. 2) Ensure that you're still on the 'Playback' tab, if not, select it. 3) Highlight your default playback device. (It'll have a green checkmark on it). 4) Click the 'Properties' button. (Botom right) 5) Click the 'Advanced' tab. 6) Note the current setting of 'Default Format' on a piece of paper. You may want to change it back afterwards. 7) Under the 'Default Format' drop down menu, choose 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality). 8) Click OK. 9) Run the game. After searching the net i have come across 4-5 different threads in different forums which all indicate the same things i have posted here and that was pretty much all i could find on the error

Re: UT3 crash at Run, VC++ runtime error (but have both 2005/8)
if your using a 64bit OS then you should only have the 64bit version of VC++ installed it will work with 32 bit stuff as well, having both 32bit and 64bit versions installed causes problems.

Re: UT3 crash at Run, VC++ runtime error (but have both 2005/8)
