Re: Activation? keys?
Hi bud

Im glad you are now able to use the service properly and see the benefits.

i hope you dont think i was angry or totally disagreed with you comments as that was not the case or my intention with my post.If i gave you that impression with my post im sorry. It is a good thing for people to voice thier opinions on here as they get listened to and nearly allways get an official response from metaboli.

I think it is better if it is constructive and polite as that breeds a nicer community and service where customers opinions are noted and actioned on where possible.we have seen this happen not only with the 64bit compatible player but lots of games arrive here as a direct result of being requested by members.:)

Re: Activation? keys?
Yeah, assault on Dark Athena is pretty awesome indeed!

Also, you'll see that another great point here is that you can try games you probably would've never tried if you had been in a traditional retail setting!

Re: Activation? keys?
When you see the powered by metaboli logo, it means that their digital delivery system is handled by us :)

Indeed, Metaboli is the best value around. Where else can you get 563 games (and counting) for such a low price?! :)

It's frequent to have problems with new software (or at least new to you as you joined not long ago) But, these usually get ironed out, thanks to our nice community of gamers!

You are not annoying anyone, it's normal to voice your concerns, as long as it is in a polite and constructive manner.

Anyhow, enjoy our games and have fun!

MetaShane

Re: Activation? keys?
this is a noob question, but when they say they are powered by metaboli, just like xfire store is too, is it still different sotware they use?

Im not being agumentative, just interested to know :?:

U have a fair piont, i agree that metaboli is really good value, and i am taking this into consideration now too.

I am just going leave my past problems, in the past, as theres no point me going on about it.
I dont want to annoy yourselfes and the rest of the community any more as everyone is very friendly and helpfull. :D

Thanks for u comments :)

Re: Activation? keys?
Please also keep in mind that the competition you mention only have a Buy and Download service, whereas this is a games on demand service, which requires much more complicated things to work on your PC... So, you can't effectivaly compare them with us.

If you want to compare, you should compare our Buy and Download service, situated here with theirs.

Re: Activation? keys?
you have soome good points. :)

metaboli customer service should have responed to my queries though, its the lack of response that got me angry.

all they have to do is email me back with proper written response and not just saying we have put u to tier 2 on the 28th or last month, im still waiting to hear from them 2 weeks later.

I will admit that because of the drive/installer issue i had hard feelings towads the company and was jumping to conclusions with regards to who is responsible regarding the Tages DRM system.

Taking the issue up with Tages as i should have in the first place.

I had initailly copy pasted all the fields, them tages email me back saying to do the same as i may have typed it wrongly, when i explained that i had both copy pasted and typed key in email i sent them.

When i used ea store or steam in the past though, they tried to help me with 3rd party sofware issues and then refunded one game when we both decided the game wasnt going to work 100% as advertised.

Going to take up multiplayer issue with atari directly, and not even email metaboli, though other download services in the past are willing to help with 3rd party issues, because they showed both knowledge of the 3rd party products sold and goodwill towards the customer.

Because other companies like steam and ea store have raised my expectations as far as download services go, i expected metaboli customer service to care about issues the same.

I suppose at the end of the day , u get what you pay for and metaboli isnt expensive.
I would happily pay a poud or two extra if it ment they could hire enough staff to answer my emails. :)

Re: Activation? keys?
Hi bud.I dont wish to trample your opinions with this post but wanted to add a little context

Your issue with the player install is a valid point and is being taken seriously and looked in to by metaboli as was posted in your original help thread by metashane.

Your security keys issue is an issue that is really is outside of metaboli's hands. As the atari forums reveal it is an issue that affects a lot of people and is due to the drm built into the game.Personally ive never come across this issue myself and ive tried most of the games on this service in the 2 years of my membership.

The patching issue is again outside of metaboli's hands. They have to request the updates from the games devoloper. They then have to wait for the games devoloper to authorise and release the patch to be used with the service which takes time.

The service is continually trying to keep itself new and up to date which as im sure in the relentless world of technology improving at an incredible speed is no easy feet.

The service does listen to it's customers and to be honest i think this is a very rare attribute. The release of the new(yummy)player is as a direct result of this.As im sure you are aware with any new software there will be bugs and oversights It's all part of the process.

I for 1 would sooner have the service be as up to date as possible and may b have a couple of issues along the way than have a service which is not as good. The implementation of 64bit gaming has gone pretty smoothly in my honest opinion and im sure some of the other long time members would agreee with me on this.

There would also be knockon effects if the service was not as upto date.these would include meta not being abel to attract as many games devopopers which would then lead to less games and finally less customers. This would obviously turn into a vicious circle.

The benefits far outwiegh the negatives if you ask me.Access to over 500games and climbing all the time for the meesley sum of less than the cost of 1 new game on the highstreet is unparralled in my opinion.

To say the service is run by cowboys is just untrue in my opinion. It's a shame that you have been unlucky to come across the install issue, security key issue and patch issue all really quickly. Most users dont get problems this often and 99% of the time thier issues are resolved.

It woud have been nice to make your comments in a more constructive manner.using terms like cowboys wont endear people to take your views seriously.

Re: Activation? keys?
i'm i not right in thinking most people will just copy paste the 5 digits at a time or would type them in as they are shown on email or game page?

EDIT: The thing that annoyed me most wasn't this issue , but the fact i had to solve the problem with the installer being bugged and using c drive for older games and somne files, regardless of the fact it installs everything else onto the local drive. The fact it reports back saying installed correct when that isnt the case is also a bug that should be sorted.

So i had to make a c drive just to get metaboli working, this was my own fix, customer service didnt even give me a proper response.

Although I wouldn't assume anything, and especially post those assumptions 'as is' on this forum, Bud.
