Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
Actually your getting the error I had before I updated the player "Must have yummy 4.0" I suggest uninstalling the player (following the instructions at the bottom) getting Firefox and try it through there, it might just be IE having a problem for some reason. I know yummy needs a plugin to install and it should prompt you about running another when launching KB.

Id also email support@metaboli.co.uk about the runtime code, as they have more knowledge on what this might be, at the moment Id guess for some reason the player didnt install right.

The Yummy portion is only new and is still being tested, KB being the test game as the Exent one didnt work, this is the only game using it the rest are still Exent.

Now as for uninstalling the player:

1. Remove the Plugins on IE and FF as described by Metaboli. (EXEtender, Gecko, Yummy.)
2. Uninstall Metaboli via add/remove programs
3. Enable Show hidden files/folders

Heres where things are a little different dependant on OS. Ill do quick way first then slow way.
Quick
4. With Explorer open (not IE) do a search for metaboli (vista users have it top right, not sure of XP)
Go to each location and delete the metaboli files/folders and all contents (unless you have your own stuff like pics/webpages related to metaboli)

Slower
4. Check - Documents and Settings\$User$\Application Data (where $user$ is each user on the PC Inluding the ALL USERS) and delete any Metaboli Player folder seen.
5. Any $User$ with the metaboli player folder also check Documents and Settings\$User$\Start Menu and Documents and Settings\$User$\Start Menu\Programs. Theres shortcuts and folder here.
6. Check Documents and Settings\$User$\ for shortcuts aswell as a folder named Metaboli Stuff.
7. Go To - Program Files and delete the Metaboli Player
8. Also in Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information.
Delete {2B7BDADB-EC8C-4C54-CE45A016D3A7} folder, you may want to enter the folder and check the setup config file is for EXEtender, it is on both computers Ive checked at home and should be for you.
9. Check on the root of the drive (ie C:\Metaboli) Im not sure if this is one I created at some point but delete it too.

Clean out the Recycle Bin.
A search for Metaboli should now turn up no results (other than your own files).

Now Reboot, Run a registry cleaner and anything else you might want to do maintenance wise.
Reboot again, now go to install the player.

PS the folders named in 4-9 should be removed by the uninstall but check they arent there otherwise they will be there for the next install and cause problems still.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
I'm not using Vista its xp Pro SP3 with IE 7. The other day I got the game working just once and since then its not working at all. I uninstalled the player yesterday and it prompted to install the new one when I tried to play the game which I downloaded and that is the screen shot you have.

but now I have the problem I either get runtime code 226 or the game says it needs yummy player 4.0 to play even though its there and installed with the KB game.

I've never been asked by windows to allow the yummy player to to work. If you notice it says in the right corner of the player "exent" I thought yummy was taking over this as the player?

If I have problems with this game then any other games relating to Yummy player will go the same way everything was working ok till they changed things.

I use spyware doctor with antivirus its not been a problem so far. thing is I'm not the only one who has had problems and other than getting a response from you I have had no further updates from MetaShane as to what is happening with this game other than the Devs were looking into fixing it.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
Cant tell via the screenshot, mine does the same thing, alternating between english and french

Im wondering if the runtime thing could be caused by security settings, in vista Im always prompted to allow the yummy broker to run, the problem being it doesnt always come to the front of the screen hiding behind Firefox.

Another suggestion would be to uninstall C++, I know someone a few weeks ago had to do this for the player to work.

Now this is Metaboli's test game, so maybe the yummy player doesnt work as well as the exent, try contacting support they might be able to actually tell you how to correct any problems assuming you need something that exent doesnt.

Something else that may be attributing to the problem is Antivirus, theres a few programs that will treat it as such, it might be worthwhile testing it with AV off to see if it has any effect. Ones that report it as a virus: Avira, F-Secure, McAfee, Sophos.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
yep same thing here it does work but sometimes takes anywhere from 1-15 tries and sometimes you have to restart the pc and then try again and it does sometimes work right away.

Most of the other times I get a runtime code and it says it wont play.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
I spoke too soon. Worked first time but now I am back at "There was an error launching the game."

I thought I would try yet another fresh download - but I get that error now even when I try downloading. Sigh.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
Works a treat after re-installing the player - thanks.
There is a slight pause before the games starts on XP 32bit - maybe 30 seconds.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
Pretty much, what happened is they rolled out the new player ahwile back and announced it. Player had all sorts of issues Kings Bounty had problems etc etc, I couldnt get it at that time, then a few days ago I reinstalled the player and it started working. Perhaps there was a minor update, before the yummy broker wasnt asking for rights, now it does everytime I launch KB. Only thing Ive noticed though is KB takes a minute to load after its downloaded, looks like nothing is happening for a minute then it kicks in.

Havent tried it in XP only Vista64, so that delay may not even be present in 32bit environments.

Re: What is happening with Kings Bounty
Well I did remove the player and I can see in the KB folder that there is a yummy player there I assume that the metaboli program still looks the same as the old one
