Hi there Jim... Sorry but it doesn't seem like we'll be having it for January in the end... Something about the way it's delivered and packaged... anyway. You can still buy it here!

Re: Ego Draconis - Divine Divinity 2
I forgot about this post Anyhow, I upgraded my card over Christmas to an ATI 5770 Vapour-x and overclocked it's core to 900 and boosted the Memory. I decided to give the demo of Divinity 2 a reply and i'm glad I did. The graphics have improved, and with a quick reference to some help off the Steam forums, the game looks nicer and runs somewhat smoother than before. Delving deeper into the demo I'm kinda hooked on the humour of the game, and the song that plays when you are in the first time is such that I can't get the whistling out of my head. So, I'm afraid I might not have the patience to wait for Metaboli to get this as you can never really be sure when the game will be available. Maybe if Shane can have another look into it I might wait - Shane, you did post before Xmas saying that the publishers said it could be January. Have you heard any more?

Re: Ego Draconis - Divine Divinity 2
I have played the demo for the PC which is basically a brief tutorial and the first village. I had the game running at high textures but toned down the shadows a little, with 1650x1080 resolution. The first thing I noticed is that the graphics are somewhat pixellated. I tried whacking everything up to maximum and 1920x1200 resolution and apart from a slight FPS hit, the game looked identical as to the previous settings I used.
I guess the pixellated graphic style is something they intended, maybe so they could keep the requirements down, but I did find the graphical quality a bit "iffy", and it has hindered my view towards it. As I use 64bit, and seeing as Metaboli is somewhat lacking titles in the RPG genre at this moment, I was considering buying it from Gamesplanet, where I've bought quite a few games from over the years.
As far as gameplay was concerned, I really quite enjoyed the combat style, which is more twitch style than traditional RPG's, like Dragon Age and its kind. I have ordered a new 5770 ATI card which comes tommorrow (currently on an old 8800gtx) so I will replay the demo when i've installed it and see if it improves. As it stands, I personally think the graphics would hurt my eyes if I played it as it is, so I'm hoping for improvement. I've read a few reviews of it around the net, and most seem to come to the same conclusion - well planned, nice combat, shame about the graphics.

Re: Ego Draconis - Divine Divinity 2
I loved Dragon Age. That and Football Manager 2010 made me cancel my subscription to Metaboli for a little while, because I just wasn't playing anything else. I'm renewing today though. I had a quick scan of the games available, and there are EIGHT new ones I want to play. I've not been off the service for long, so that's pretty impressive.

Each to their own... I myself have spent too many hours in front of DAO... But if you don't like fantasy games with immersive storylines and dynamic gameplay, then this is not for you.

You can get the digital delux edition with all the extras including the 3 new premium levels for £24.99 at the minute. Though have to admit i find the game a pile of crud. Graphics are nice, but the game itself cakes.
