Re: I Want My Money Back
hi hct,Thank you for your post, If you have read the rest of the post in this forum (or even in this thread) then you will see that for most people the service works perfectly fine.anyhow - to your problem I assume that you're having trouble downloading? Did you take a look at our various forum sections etc? I see that you've only posted once so you didn't ask any other users for help in this forum that is dedicated for inter-user help. From your post it seems that you're having trouble contacting our customer support team. This could be because you're not replying to the automatic mail.Let me explain: Our customer support team get so many mails about problems that are very simple to solve that we placed a post on the forum and direct all emails to this post with an autoresponse, if users don't find thier response they are asked to REPLY to this email, not write a new one, to get through to a suppport agent.this is because the email system we use can tell the difference between a reply and a new email. if it's a new email, it'll always send the auto response. so please make sure that you REPLY to the automail. That way you'll get through to a real person.as for refunding. We're, as our partners tell us, a bit too nice when it comes to refunds. If you subscribed and you haven't used the service (we can check), you can prove that none of the games will work on your PC, and you have made a significant effort with our support team to get it working on your PC, then in most cases we refund. You will need to contact our support team for this.

Re: I Want My Money Back
Quote: I was actually talking more generally about the whole international distribution rights issue with regard to services like Metaboli (UK) and Gametap (US/Canada).
You're talking generally about specific services? Most games are acquired from local publishers who only have local distribution rights themselves. So they have the rights for their region and anything else is outside of their remit. I suspect the reason why people can use Metaboli and Gametap outside these regions is that theres little reason to care about such usage at this point as these types of service are relatively under developed and "small fry". If it becomes highly profitable I guess it'll adopt a similar model to movie distribution where they are highly protective of the region and go to great lengths to stop unauthorized usage. Quote: And talking of billing address - do services such as this necessarily know a (valid) billing address - they are dealing with a Credit/Debit Card account number they are not sending out monthly bills to addresses.
The billing address is passed to the credit/debit card company as its part of the verification check they do. If the address provided doesnt match the address registered to the card, they wont process the transaction. There isnt much opportunity to provide "fake" billing addresses in card transactions online. So the opportunity is there for Metaboli to filter out overseas users quite easily.

Re: I Want My Money Back
Just bare in mind Gametap is for US and Canadian citizens only (due to publishing rights) and yes even the free ones. Its also worth noting Gametap uses the Exent player just like Metaboli;so you get the same issues
