Re: Vista Ultimate 64bit UK
I am also dissapointed that 64bit is not supported yet. I use Metaboli on & off, and i am upgrading in the near future to Vista 64bit version due to RAM upgrade, as 32bit doesnt support what i want.I really hope Metaboli upgrade to 64bit in the futre, as i have been pleased with their service, and would be reluctant to use another company. However, If anyone kows of any similar sites that offer what Metaboli do, with 64 bit, it would be nice to know.

Re: Vista Ultimate 64bit UK
Just a note on this. I haven't yet upgraded to Vista, partly 'cos of a lack of trust of Microsoft initial releases, but mostly due to time, and admittedly some fears of compatibility with current apps. My XP machine does what it needs to for the time-being.However, when I do upgrade, probably within the next couple of months, it will be to Vista 64-Bit - what's the point of having up-to-date hardware and then not using it to the best of its ability by installing a platform version designed mostly for backward-compatibility.Many serious to hardcore players take pride in their PC's technical capabilities and will opt for the 64-bit version to squeeze every last ounce out of their machines. This is backed up by the guys that I know and the fact that not one of them is considering Vista 32.

I work as a freelancer for several small companies as a freelance technical support agent. Three of those companies recently did [s]survays[/s] surveys to see what percentage of the Vista market was purchasing 64-bit or 32-bit. With all due respect to your "tiny market" claims, I [s]beleive[/s] believe your information is poorly researched. The first [s]survay[/s] survey , released in February stated that 15% of their Vista users where purchasing the 64-bit version. The last two where compiled last month (June) and the first one in claimed that 38% of users where 64-bit users and the second claimed that 32% where 64-bit users. The reason many people where not purchasing Vista 64 to begin with was because Intel where not pushing 64-bit support enough, many users where playing it safe, not understanding that all new CPU's supports 64-bit today. Awareness is increasing on the subject, so more users are favoring 64-bit Vista now. I know at least one of these companies intend to run a monthly [s]survay[/s] surveys over the next six months to monitor the growth of the 64-bit market. But at the end of the day a [s]thrid[/s] third of Vista users is a minority, but far for tiny. Perhaps, if you've run [s]survays[/s] surveys, the reason it's coming back as tiny is because people are noticing the metaboli doesn't support 64-bit Vista and are simply not signing up because of it? I'm afraid that you guys are going to have to learn that Vista 64-bit is growing alot quicker then you realise. Besides any customer who installs your software, and gets told that you don't support a major new operating system dispite plastering "Vista tested" on your games is going to be disgruntled. ANYONE who works in customer service and technical support knows that people will always complain like crazy when something goes wrong, but never say a thing when everythings going right. You potentally have alot of bad word of mouth PR out there that you're perhaps not factoring in.
Eurgh there's more it's not helping my boredom much.

Re: Vista Ultimate 64bit UK
Sorry I completely forgot about this thread!Sorry I can't post those result's they where private survays by the companies in question. I'll ask from them to be publically released. In the mean time I'll try and track some some unoffical sales figures. It really doesn't help that Microsoft lumps in the 64-bit and 32-bit figures.

Re: Vista Ultimate 64bit UK
I personally am pushing for 64bit compatibility, but like I said, nothing has yet to be official and it won't happen overnight. this is a complicated program, and Vista really doesn't help.@ kenjar:but to help me could you post a link to the market research that you mentioned? those stats are much much higher than anything else that we've found
