Hi
I can assure you meta do check all games before allowing ussers access to them.
It is likely a false positive if it has come from a game here. What scanner are you using and what does it label it as.If it has generic, artemis in the title then it will be that the virus scanner does not recognise a virus but thinks it is acting suspiciously(connecting to the net) and therefore blocks it from running.
you could try sending the the file to the makers of your security software so thy can remove it as a false positive in a future update.
In over 400 games that i have tried from the service here i have had 3-4 blocked by my scanner as false positives.
How do you expect any one to investigate anything when you have not provided any relevant info....What game was causing the issue. What did the scanner label the virus as and what was the original location and name of the file. You should be able to get all this info from the quarentine section of your scanner. What scanner and operating system are you using?
Have you tried googling the name of the virus to see what it is and what it does?
The flase positives i have come across here do not stop my net.It may be that your security software shut your net down as a response to the threat but i have not seen any security software operate that way personally.
The only thing that should stop you from downloading games is if the scanner or firewall thinks the player is acting oddly. Some info that may or may not be needed by the firewall if it is blocking the player from running is available here
