Re: Play the grand finale of the X Trilogy!
Well got it on disc so wasnt immediate for me.. now can mothball the DVD and run through here instead. Still a great addition in my opinion.
and to keep with the quotes
"Pathetic Unholy Being,
I, Unmankellnot, Paranid of great esteem, Advisor to the Pontifex Maximus Paranidia, faultless ruler of the all knowing Paranid Empire have been given the authority to demand that you, despite certain genetic inconsistencies and visual impairment are to recieve the most recent in Paranid ship design excellence. The ship, our most glorious empires latest Corvette class vessel is currently stocked at all Paranid shipyards, you will now buy the Thanatos.
Then you are to test the craft to the best of your inability and all statistics and other information that you can not understand will automatically be transferred to the Paranid Empire, to be perused over by beings capable of grasping three-dimensionality.
I understand that you will be deeply honoured, and shocked that you have been chosen for this most illustrious task. But be fully aware that you have only been chosen, despite the fact that you are an evolutionary dead-end, through divination by the great Pontifex Maximus Paranidia for reasons that you will not be able to comprehend.
We, the great Paranid empire have desciphered that you, in your disabled state may not be able to find Paranid territory, or the shipyards there-in. If this is the case, then we will waste no more of our precious time on you, and you may continue with your pitiful existence.
Unmankellnot, Paranid of great esteem, Advisor to the Pontifex Maximus Paranidia."

Re: Play the grand finale of the X Trilogy!
Not sure if this is the finale per say..
Koch Media will be holding a press conference at FedCon XX in Düsseldorf, Germany on Thursday 28 April 2011 at 15:15, at which the project known as TNBT will be officially unveiled. There will be a brief preview of the game for the media. All of the relevant information given at the event will also be simultaneously released right here at Egosoft.com.
Egosoft have dropped it wont be X4.. but niether was Terran Conflict, might see a X3: insertnamehere, at the very least its going to be a new space sim.
eagerly awaiting April 28th

Re: Play the grand finale of the X Trilogy!
I really need to get an X52 (or equivalent - any good full HOTAS sticks/throttles around with force feedback these days?) to play more space sims... There aren't enough good ones made anymore!

Re: Play the grand finale of the X Trilogy!
have to agree there.. I still wish I could get a Logitech Extreme Analog joystick (the digital always lost calibration) best stick I had. Wasnt Force feedback, but unlike many of the current crop there was resistance in the base which made my movements smooth and not feel like Im combatting a floppy stick. Also weighed a ton so wouldnt be picked up easily by sudden evasive manouvres. I used to play Wing Commander on this and never needed a second hand to hold it down. Currently have a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force. Its ok, nothing to write home about. Do you need the seperate throttle control? Thrustmaster T Flight Stick X-PC JoystickThrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X JoystickThrustmaster T.16000MWill cost a sight less than the Saitek 52 and look solid. Personally Im not sure whether to go for the 1st or 3rd stick myself, but if I had the money to spend Id be buying one of them. However you specifically say the HOTAS sticks/throttles how about a bit more realism than the x52 will cost you a pretty pound but here you go Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick and ThrottleAnother one thats really something more if you want to have the full control of flying a plane/helicoptor (more aimed at people playing Flight Similator than gaming Id say) Logitech G940 Flight SystemEdit: shop around the links arent nescessarily the best price, all from 1 site for ease of posting to reviews and product info
