Danb2k i'm not able to get cable so i'm stuck with broadband down a phone line, and while my max speed is 3.5Mbps I can at least can get that speed while downloading from Metaboli and anywhere else at any time of day although it can be a little slower on metaboli on Thursdays (new game day) but not by much,

my ISP routes their traffic pretty well, also they put me on fast path which gives low ping rates, helps to get the fastest speed for the line but there is a chance it can cause a little instability although i haven't had any as yet.

basically my point is i have no issues with downloading at fast speeds with metaboli and i'm sure many others don't either other wise they would all be posting on here complaining, i know this doesn't help your situation but to put blame at metaboli where there technically isn't any to be had isn't really fair to them or the service.

Im feeling quite lucky now since i also use VM 20mb internet and rarely get less than 800kb/s in fact its usually 2mb/sec and that seems fine to me. Although i do notice the speeds fluctuate alot but all that matters is the speed is fine for me.

Okay, so help me understand. I'm in the US, I have cableone.net and generally see stuff off Steam at 1.2 mb/s. Sometimes it'll run at close to 1 mb/s, then suddenly it drops to about 130 kb/s and stays there. This is at around 2am my time right now but it doesn't really matter. I can pause the download and go D/L anything I want from just about anywhere and get my regular speeds. There is one and only one site that I consistently see this slowdown at - metaboli.

I like the service, I'm not threatening to cancel or anything foolish like that, just saying that absolutely and without question my speeds here are meager. I'm struggling to find how that's something I can blame on Virgin Mobile?

I often get about 40 or 50% at around 500 or 600k, then PFFT. I'm at 100k-150k until it's done.

Again, this is *unique* to Metaboli. This isn't a blame thing, this is just wanting to know if there is something, anything I can do to download my games in even 1 hour instead of 8?

Hi there Griefer... Unfortunately, you being from the US and all, we won't be able to help you with those download speeds, as our service isn't intended to serve the US at all. We're geared towards the UK only, unfortunately for you =(

Something you may want to try is to turn off IP flood detection in your router settings. I just got VM (same as the original poster) and they recently discovered that this has an impact on some downloads (bassically where they would slow down to a crawl) and advised me to turn it off. Im currently getting 48mb speed from metaboli on my 50mb line.

Not sure if its just a fault in thier router but wort a shot.
