For those of you unfamiliar with the original (first of all, don't worry: Runaway 2 feature a "previously" bit so you can catch up) Runaway a Road Adventure was a great comic adventure, funny, challenging and great to look at with its cell shading style. Well Brian Basco, the physics student and Gina Timmins, the stripper are back for more wild adventures. This time it's a race to track down and save Gina for our Hero over the island of Mala, into underground complexes and across the Alaskan tundra.
The Runaway style is well and truly present with funny characters and loads of great film, game and pop culture references. Whether it be in the comic puzzles (getting lemurs drunk) or stereotypical characters, you're set for laughs throughout.
The puzzles are back up to standard too, some very logical, others that really need you to think out of the box and a fair few that'll make you really pull your hair out; Just what we like in an adventure game. With over a hundred items to use, combine and mess around with you and Brian will most certainly have the tool for every job, but maybe a little parallel thought is in order for how...
The cell shading style of the adventure coupled with the fantastic cut-scenes makes the perfect way of presenting such a wild adventure, but only once you see the painstaking 2D artwork in the game combined with the fantastic 3D animations, you'll really see what we mean.
It's time to Runaway again.
