Inspired by the Jules Verne classic: Mysterious Island, this Point and Click adventure is easily as beautiful as Syberia, and has some fun, brain melting puzzles on par with Aura.
Return to Mysterious Island is played from a first person view with cut scenes made in a kind of comic strip style images which works particularly well. As Mina your first requirements are food (but you're on your own, no Yakuza to go fishing for you), exploration and finding a way to escape the island. Later on you'll meet the ghost of... well we can't tell you or it'll spoil the great story, and investigate the technology left behind by the characters from the famous Jules Verne novel.
The game has an inventive system of combining the objects picked up; early in the game you'll be required to combine some thorns with a fire to create curved thorns which you'll then need to combine with a rope and some wood to create a fishing rod which you can then go fishing with. But you could use another type of thorns which are harder to find that don't need bending. See that's great as well there's not just one solution to a puzzle there can be quite a few.
Most of these puzzles aren't too demanding of your grey cells, but you will still get that nice feeling when you solve them on your own.
But by far the best thing about return to mysterious island is its looks. It's gorgeous, and you have no choice but to acknowledge the fact.
Oh and you get a monkey friend too! - Those guys from Lost never got a monkey!
