Republic the Revolution is truly a unique game in which you play out the steps involved to start a revolution and overthrow the powers above. You first begin the game defining your character by answering a series of questions (such as acknowledging that your favourite childhood book was titled the 'KGB Primer'). Then your character will automatically be created with a set of defined characteristics, such as his Charisma and powers of Control amongst others.
As you begin the game all alone, you must quickly seek out other people to join your cause. Recruit people with valuable abilities to join you by inviting them out for lunch, and then engage them in serious conversation. Yes, in Republic the Revolution conversation is serious stuff. In fact conversations are like mini-games where you have to 'play' arguments with different point values in a number of rounds. Depending on whether you win the majority of points will decide if you've succeeded in persuading the other person, think of it as a boxing match with words. As 'agents' are recruited (up to a maximum of six) you can then start to build up the foundations of your revolution. First start off by gathering information in different districts of the city. This will allow you to uncover important people that might be hiding there, discover secret hideouts that can be useful meeting places or just to find out if you're the next target on a rival faction's hit list. Conversely you can spread mis-information throughout a city by planting fake information and misleading opposing factions.
People are the source of your power, as the more supporters you gain, the more 'resources' you will acquire. To be successful you need to amass three types of resources: Force, Influence and Wealth. All the actions performed by your agents will require the use of these resources.
