For those of you a little lost, here is a Prince of Persia catch-up: you can download the Sands of Time here and Warrior Within here. There, now you're all ready for the latest and greatest of the prince's adventures: the Two Thrones.
So he's back in Babylon and he's after his loved one... well we won't reveal too much... lets just say that the story is a perfect continuation from the (alternate) ending of Warrior Within and Sands of Time and ties up some of the loose ends.
In terms of the style Two Thrones really is a mix of the previous titles; the amazing looks and environment of the first game have been kept, but with the excellent combat system of Warrior Within. You've also got both versions of the Prince: the simple 'trying-to-correct-a-cock-up' Prince from the Sands of Time as the regular Prince and the 'I-eat-live-babies' version from Warrior Within as the Dark Prince. It's all a deep philosophical meaning of the fight between the goodness and evil inside all of us and the repercussions on our daily lives and those of our loved ones . But what it really means is that you'll be switching from the lovable, sword wielding (if slightly under-clad) nice Prince - perfect for thinky bits, to the bad-hair-day, dagger-whip sporting Dark Prince - perfect for fighty bits. Both have their pros and cons, and the mix between the two make for some great puzzles and transitions.
Of course the dagger of time makes a welcome return. Letting you roll back time to make that jump right as well as slow and stop time. A great addition to this is the speed kill, where you can sneak up behind enemies and by tapping the attack button at the indicated time causing instant death for your enemies. And it looks sooo cool too.
Along with some exceptional bosses (exceptionally large) and a furious (if slightly chaotic) chariot race section, there's something for everyone in the Two Thrones. It's a good place to start for new comers, but once you've started you'll want to play through the previous games in the series.
