UbiSoft bring back the Prince for his second (new format) adventure, really ramming home that the Prince of Persia is back and once again a name in the gaming industry. Older gamers should remember the original Prince games (and hopefully forget Prince 3D) and Warrior Within remains proud to the series.
Ubi have kept the qualities from the Sands of Time game: quality acrobatics, gorgeous looks, perfect puzzles and the way the Prince can control time, and added to the satisfying cocktail: a combat system that leaves nothing to be desired, the possibility of dual wielding of swords (and more swords), updated graphics and even more acrobatics for our light footed hero to perform (my personal fave was the way the Prince can slide down a tapestry with his sword to slow his fall à la Errol Flynn).
Then there's the soundtrack. UbiSoft bought on board the perfect group to give Warrior Within the dark feel that it needed to show that the Prince has gone bad: Godsmack, bass-heavy, industrial metal tunes that fit perfectly with the Prince gone bad.
The levels are once again masterfully designed, especially in the Island of Time levels where you will be moving between the immaculate castle of the past and the ruins of the present to complete the puzzles in front of you. Start the download, dust off your scimitar and put on your nasty face, Warrior Within is coming.
