AS said before this game is truly open for the player to choose what to do. You might want to restart lots of time in the beginning while learning/testing skills, weapons, factions and so on. Not only do you have stats, but your units have too, and every faction has different kind of units.
If you truly want to be a master of this game, then choosing the right units for the right battles is important, just as important as joining a faction as that will open lots of new possibilities.
One problem is that this game might be extremely hard in the beginning, I noticed that at least. They could maybe add a guide for starters or something. I used 7-8 heroes before finally getting one hero where I can truly rule over most enemies.
The fights here are incredible, and fun. You start with minimum difficulty and should easily be able to slay 6-7 looters alone as long as you have your horse. But later it will get harder, since you won't be able to fight 80+ enemies alone, especially when they have horses too. And there is no way you can take over a castle by yourself. The enemies can either go on and challenge you to a fight, then they think they can win. Or if they think they won't win, then they will run from you.
You have to have a steady economy too, as while your army grows bigger and better, the salary grows too. But as long as you do things right, so will you never notice a problem there.
Overall an extremely well made game which has a large possibility of replaying over and over again.
