Since the '90s the Heroes series has caused a great deal of all-nighters and a host of people telling their loved-ones "I'll turn off after this turn". We would like to say that all addictions are bad for you, but this one definitely isn't, thousands of fans can't be wrong.
This last episode of the series to come out of the original Heroes studios, has taken the series to its peak. In isometric 3D Heroes IV and its addons give you over 15 campaigns for your taste, loads of magic to learn and a menagerie of monsters good enough for any fantasy world.
Create your hero character to be specialized in either magic or might (physical combat, or being a hard bugger as we refer to it). From a starting town, your hero will need to build up an army of troops and go exploring the map, capturing resources and items, and conquering enemy towns and armies. Each different hero type corresponds to a different town type; and each town produces different types of monsters and soldiers you can stick into your army.
And when you attack something, or get attacked, its zoom in time for army against army, all perfectly done and turn by turn, real strategy.
You'll be exploring, and of course conquering, over many turns, and like all addictions, it'll go a quite a distance to get that last turn out of you to capture that last gold mine, treasure chest, or the artifact that's just over there, I can see it!!!
