Possibly the best first person shooter of all time

Jack Carver, ex-marine, has chartered his boat to take a photographer to some south pacific islands. After having delivered the photographer to the Miconesia chain, Jack's boat is blown out of the water by a missile. It's a bit of a surprise but not as much as the truckloads of mercenaries that are protecting the island chain nor the genetic research labs and the test subjects that are breaking free.
The islands of paradise are turning into a nightmare, and the only way out is straight through the middle...

Unlike everyone else on here I can't give this game a 5. It was too quickly blown out of the water by Half Life 2 to have really become a classic IMO. However, being the first "next-gen" shooter it is groundbreaking and a great game. Looking a bit dated now, but still worth a play!
