Though you'll be playing as the famous detective, you are in reality playing as Captain Hastings as Poirot recounts his adventure to Hastings and you, as Hastings in Poirot's skin try to solve the mysteries. Yes it is rather convoluted, but it gives you an excellent narrative to the plot and you can return to Poirot's office in London at any time to quiz the fussy sleuth.

As with the previous Agatha Christie games (like And Then There Were None) the style of the whole game fits perfectly with the 40's and 50's style, though the environments are better indoors than outdoors, this is only because the indoor environments are so well made. The story, despite being a reworked version of the novel, the game plot flows very well especially thanks to the narration by Poirot himself and the excellent voice acting by each of the characters. And because that voice acting is so good, those sections where you'll need to winkle the important thread of info from grilling all those suspects becomes a real pleasure.

The interface and inventory are well made, though you'll find Poirot uses more objects in the game than he normally does, but that's just the point and click adaptations. All in all Evil Under the Sun makes for an excellent point and click adventure especially thanks to the excellent voice work.
